Our Story
Richard Butts builds enterprise data architecture for the landscaping elite.
Before founding Groundbreakers Digital, Richard managed over $70M in global media spend and engineered the infrastructure that scaled Lorex Technology’s eCommerce revenue from $20M to $99M YoY. He operated at a technical scale where a single data fracture cost millions, executing digital buyouts across the New York Times and architecting growth systems designed to survive exponential load.
But it was during his time inside LMN—working directly on Mark Bradley’s growth team for LMN Pro, Gro, Lend, and Greenius—that he identified the landscape industry’s most expensive blind spot.
He watched 8-figure contractors pour capital into demand generation, only to bleed operating margin through broken sales handoffs, disconnected CRMs, and fragile Zapier automations. He realized the industry didn't have a lead generation problem; it had a data integrity problem. Running ads for a company with a broken revenue system was just adding water to a leaking bucket.
Groundbreakers was built to fix the leak.
Today, Richard operates as a Forensic Data Architect for $5M–$20M+ landscape operators and Private Equity buyers. He builds the stateful middleware, governed stage gates, and bulletproof integrations that turn a people-dependent landscaping company into a multiple-expanding, PE-ready enterprise.

Built in the Trenches. Engineered for Scale.
From managing $70M in global ad spend to architecting the infrastructure for the landscaping elite.
